EcoVadis consulting.
Support your practices with evidence.
Has a customer requested an EcoVadis assessment? We review your existing practices, records and assessment scope together. Your teams gain a clear view of the information to prepare and the improvements to prioritise.
For industrial businesses preparing for their first assessment, responding to a customer’s sustainability request or addressing improvement areas in an existing scorecard.
Four themes, grounded in your operations
Environment
We review objectives and records for energy, water, waste and materials. Site boundaries, reporting periods and data owners are defined so that statements can be matched to their supporting evidence.
Labour and human rights
We work with the relevant teams on working conditions, health and safety, training and employee communication. The review examines how policies are implemented and which records demonstrate that work.
Ethics
We assess how codes of conduct, reporting channels, responsibilities and team awareness fit into everyday operations. Missing control points become practical actions with assigned owners.
Sustainable procurement
With your procurement team, we review supplier expectations, evaluation records and follow-up practices. Information requests are defined around supplier risk and the business relationship.
How we work together
We agree scope, responsibilities and deliverables at the outset. Progress is reviewed against completed work and outstanding needs.
Prepare for the first conversationAgree the scope and starting point
We discuss the company, sites, customer request and timetable. Where available, we review the previous scorecard alongside existing policies, implementation records and indicators.
Scope summary and a prioritised work listMatch statements to supporting records
Questionnaire topics are mapped to existing evidence. We check its company, subject and reporting period, separating objectives that have not yet been implemented from completed activities and results.
Evidence inventory, missing records and responsible teamsTrack preparation and improvement
We review consistency between responses and documents with your teams. Priority actions are followed through, and the assessment scorecard informs the next improvement plan.
Assessment readiness and a trackable improvement plan
Illustrative assignment
A sustainability request from a customer
In an illustrative manufacturing business, a procurement policy exists but supplier evaluations are kept in separate files. The assignment extends beyond rewriting that policy.
- Define which suppliers and procurement activities are in scope.
- Match existing evaluations, requests and follow-up records to the relevant statement.
- Assign an owner, deadline and completion evidence to each missing practice.
Where should we start?
These topics help us understand your requirements. We can identify any missing records during the initial assessment.
- Your customer’s request and target assessment timetable
- The company and sites included in the assessment
- Any existing EcoVadis scorecard and improvement areas
- Policies, implementation records and current indicators
- Responsible people in environment, HR, procurement and management
Common questions
Is EcoVadis an ISO certificate?
No. An EcoVadis sustainability assessment and scorecard differ from ISO management system certification. Relevant ISO certificates can support an assessment, but do not by themselves deliver an EcoVadis result or score.
Is a score or medal guaranteed?
No. EcoVadis conducts the assessment and determines its outcome. SEZHEL provides preparation, implementation and improvement consulting. A particular score, medal or customer acceptance is not guaranteed.
Can we start if our documents are not well organised?
Yes. We review existing work and records, then prioritise the gaps. The aim is to improve real practices and their records, rather than produce documents used only to answer a questionnaire. Activities that did not take place are not presented as completed work.
How are timing and fees determined?
The company and site scope, maturity of existing records, previous assessments and team availability are assessed together. Following the initial discussion, the proposal sets out the scope and deliverables. EcoVadis platform fees are separate from consulting fees; current platform terms should be checked with EcoVadis.
Does a GRI or TSRS report replace this work?
The purposes and assessment methods differ. Relevant information in a sustainability report can support preparation, but having a report does not automatically complete an EcoVadis assessment. Shared data and records can be organised around the requirements of each scope.
Keep preparation tasks on a shared schedule.
Use SEZHEL Flow to follow information requests, owners, deadlines and approval steps across teams. Flow is not an integration that automatically submits data to EcoVadis or calculates a score.
